Parent Information Regarding the Panorama Social Emotional Learning Students Survey
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district.  To learn more about student experiences and needs, we will be asking for your child’s feedback via an online survey they will complete in Advisory.  Over 1,000 schools and districts use Panorama for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to grow and measure their students’ social and emotional skills and supports.
Social emotional learning captures the mindsets, skills, attitudes, and feelings that help students succeed in school, career, and life. For the Olathe Public Schools, Panorama for Social-Emotional Learning measures how students and teachers are doing on SEL topics and gives educators resources to use every day in order to instruct students in social-emotional skills.
Your consent at enrollment allows a 30-minute student survey to be given three times a year to measure students’ perception of their skills in the areas of grit, emotional regulation, social awareness, teacher-student relationships, coping with anxiety, sense of belonging, and school safety.    This data will be reviewed at the district and classroom level to determine areas of strength and areas where more instruction is needed and/or skills practiced. Student individual data will be available to both students and parents.
A copy of the survey questions are attached to this post.

Olathe North Community,
I apologize for an overload in information, but I really need our community to understand the expectations we have put in place as students return to school.  It is my job to ensure a safe learning environment for your children and the Olathe North staff.  Attached are several documents that speak to the mitigation plans at Olathe North.  We want the hybrid start to be a good one, but also a safe one.   Please review the documents with your student(s) before they come to school on Monday.  Attached you will find the following documents.
Hybrid Instructions
Hybrid Instructions (Spanish)
Parking Lot Map
Hallway Traffic Map
Hallway Signage.
We will obviously go over all of this with the students on Monday.  Please be understand this is going to take some time before we are in our groove.  I am excited for the kids to be back and have some sense of normalcy.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
Please go to https://jasonhermanon.weebly.com/newsletter for updated information.
Also, I have received several Covid-19 transfer requests for students to go remote and for kids to return to in-person.  Please remain where you have chosen until you hear from the district.  If you selected remote learning and have a transfer turned in for in-person please stay remote until you have received district approval.

E-Hallpass Student Blackboard

1/4/2021

ehallpass_student_letter.pdf
File Size: 154 kb
File Type: pdf
Download File

Good afternoon,

Just a quick reminder that when students return to school, we will be using EHallpass to replace the need of hand-written passes to/from class and to help monitor hallway traffic throughout the day. With E-Hallpass...

• Students will receive passes to leave the building (ex. Doctor/Dentist appointments). Parents – Please continue to coordinate with the attendance office & remind your student to check e-Hallpass on the days they need to leave.
• Teachers will schedule office hours with students who they need to see.
• Counselors and other staff members will contact students for meetings.
• Students can create a pass to leave the classroom (ei. restroom, drinking fountain, etc.).

It is important that students bring their charged laptop to school daily and have the E-Hallpass website pulled up on your web-browser so you can check if you have any Appointment Passes waiting for you.

Log into E-Hallpass with these easy steps…
1. Locate the Technology 233 Icon on your desktop OR visit https://www.olatheschools.org/technology 2. From the homepage, hover over the about us tab and select District Logins à then select Class Link. 3. From the Class Link page, you can login with your district username/password.
4. The E-Hallpass Icon will appear on your dashboard – just select that and you will get logged in automatically.

At this time we are asking that students use their laptop to access the E-Hallpass website, not through the app on the cell phone.
