March 25, 2019 ~ With the district’s Para Appreciation Week being March 25-29, we wanted to take time to share information about all the wonderful work that is done across the district by our classified paras. Paras throughout the district serve in a wide range of environments with a broad array of duties and responsibilities. The vast locations where our staff serve include early childhood classrooms, resource rooms, ED resource rooms, CBR classrooms, Autism classrooms, AWE & Prairie Learning Center, Claire Learning Center, Mill Creek Campus, and in our wide variety of programs for 18-21 year old students.
Olathe paras work on the front lines providing so many different services including academic support, social-emotional support, keeping students safe and healthy, and serving as role models and mentors to students. Many of our staff also assist students in the community with employment skills and daily living functions.
Each individual is truly vital to our ability to provide the best special education services to our Olathe students as we prepare them for their future! We are incredibly grateful for everything they provide to our students and special education teachers and staff. Please join us in thanking all our para-professionals for their dedication, commitment, and hard work.
