District Continues Work on 1:1 High School Technology Initiative
District staff continue to work toward implementing a 1:1 high school technology initiative at the remaining four high schools, following the launch of a 1:1 program at Olathe West High School. Making sure that the launch of a vital technology initiative is successful, district staff has developed 10 assurances that staff are working to meet before the scheduled launch of a 1:1 initiative at the remaining four high schools. Some of these assurances include the implementation of vital infrastructure, wireless accessibility, professional development, device determination, among others.
District staff are still working through some of these assurances. We continue to learn from Olathe West students and staff as they engage in high levels of learning using 1:1 devices. Their experiences, both positive and negative, allow us to continue creating an even better experience behind the scenes as we prepare for our next deployments. Once a timeframe has been determined for Olathe North, we will communicate with parents.
Thank you for your patience as we work to implement a successful 1:1 technology initiative at our high schools.
