In an effort to best serve students and their families, beginning today, April 17, the Technology Division is enabling the new password reset process. Technology will be eliminating the 90-day forced password reset and will begin to employ a self-service password reset provided by Office 365.
At this time students are not required to change their passwords. However, we encourage users to create new passwords to meet the new, complex password requirements in the near future.
Benefits of utilizing a self-serve password reset include:
1. Users can change their password anytime, anywhere, provided they have access to www.office.com.
2. Password resets no longer require the use of a school computer or district-managed device.
3. Forgotten password resets can be initiated by the user through Office 365.
4. Enhanced security, as newly generated passwords will meet more complex criteria.
Attached is a document which provides additional information and a step-by-step process.
If you have any questions regarding the new self-service password protocol, please contact the Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
