Our district immunization exclusion day for student’s still needing proof of immunizations is Monday, January 8, 2018. If you have been notified by the nurse’s office that your student is not in compliance, they will not be allowed to return to school this day unless they bring proof of needed immunizations. If your student receives other immunizations not required for school (such as Hepatitis A, HPV) these can be added to their record if sent to the nurse’s office. All immunizations can be viewed and obtained through Parent View.
Our district 11th grade hearing and vision screening will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Our district 9th grade vision screening will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. If you would prefer your student to not participate in this screening, please notify the nurse’s office at 913-780-7142.
New this year, parents are to sign a consent for OTC (Over the Counter) medications to be administered at school. OTC medications will be administered sparingly when indicated to make students more comfortable and able to remain at school. Ideally, high school students with an ongoing need for OTC medications would self-carry and not be dependent on health room stock.
The Flu season is here. Signs and symptoms include: abrupt onset of fever, headache, muscle aches, cough, sore throat and malaise. Prevention includes good handwashing and covering nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing. Students must be fever free (below 100 degrees) for 24hrs before returning to school.
If your student will be participating in any high school sport, please turn the KSHSAA form in to the main office.
