Dear Parent/Guardian, We want to inform you that Olathe North High School has a new way to effectively process tardies and tardy discipline. As a result, you will begin to receive instant notifications via email when your child incurs any tardies or tardy discipline throughout the school year. This system enhances our communication and accountability and will greatly benefit the school, you the parent/guardian and your child. While the system is designed to communicate through email, if you would like to opt-in to text message notifications, that feature is also available. To opt-in to text notifications, please contact our office at 913-780-7140 and provide us with your cell phone number and the cell phone carrier you use. Up to two cell phone numbers can be added. There is a possibility that the first time we send you the notification, It could end up in a clutter/junk/spam folder. Please check those folders routinely. You should move the email to your inbox. Your email will learn from this and/or you can designate it as not clutter/junk/spam. If you have any further questions, please contact the school office. This same information is attached to this email in the word document below. Sincerely, Jason Herman Olathe North High School, Principal ![]()

Late Dismissal Today10/11/2017 Dear Olathe North parents,
I wanted to provide you with information about an incident that occurred just prior to dismissal today. There was an incident today between an individual student and our School Resource Officer that required additional police support, which resulted in numerous law enforcement vehicles on the campus. At no point were any students or staff in any danger. Dismissal was delayed by a few minutes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely, Jason Herman, Principal

October 11th Testing day and Schedule10/5/2017 Families and Community,
The Kansas State Testing day is Wednesday October 11th. All freshman, sophomore, and junior students will be scheduled to take an exam on that morning of testing day. Seniors have the option of taking the practice ACT or attend the post secondary breakout sessions specifically targeting our seniors. Once the morning is completed the students will then go to Eagle Halftime and then finish their day with an advisory period and 7th hour block. For the first time any 9th grader that didn't sign up for the PSAT will be taking the PSAT 8/9 exam that will prepare them for the PSAT in either their sophomore or junior year. All 10th, 11th, and 12th graders that didn't sign up for other options will be taking the Practice ACT. This is an opportunity to experience this high stakes test without the results impacting your student. Students that signup for the PSAT will be taking this exam for scholarship opportunities and National Merit qualifying. This year we have offered the 12th graders an opportunity to visit post-secondary breakout sessions if they didn't want to take the practice ACT or ASVAB. The options for seniors are listed as follows, ACT Prep, Authentic Spanish presentation, college application support, resume preparation, presentation by our armed forces, presentations by local colleges and universities and a former Olathe North Graduate panel. Seniors that attend OATC will have the opportunity to have a Work Day at OATC. Some Seniors will take the ASVAB, this test is offered at ON for students interested in the military. Test day will start promptly at 8:00am. this will not impact bussing or traditional start of the school day. Eagle Halftime will take place from 12:00 – 12:50. Students will get an opportunity to eat lunch and visit teachers for academic support. We will then move into our advisory period from 12:55 – 1:32 (37). We will complete are day in 7th Block 1:37 – 3:00 (83). What Students testing will need? writing utensils 2 pencils graphing calculator social security number valid picture ID (Olathe North ID will be accepted) .

It is still going to be a great Homecoming week even with the weather. Have a great day! As the weather moves in we could have some changes to the Homecoming festivities.
