Secret Vaping Devices9/16/2019 Olathe North Community,
The vaping epidemic is real. All high schools across the nation are dealing with this epidemic. This week I received an email that shared the secret ways kids are trying to hide their vapes from school employees and parents. I felt this blog was imperative to share with parents. In another blog I am sharing a potential webinar that parents and students alike can watch. The Olathe district will be hosting a parent information meeting on vaping in November. There will be more information to follow.

It is a national day that encourages families to spend quality time with one another on the 23rd or anytime during the week. It is a time to turn off the TV and other electronic devices. Families can make dinner, play games, go for a walk, read a book, FaceTime grandparents, visit a city park, and much more. The City website provides additional information you can share with your families - https://www.olatheks.org/residents/community-resources/family-day. Finally, we ask that you place a yard sign near the entrance of your school. Secondary schools should have received their sign from their SRO. Elementary principals receive a sign this morning during their meeting at the Ed Center. I hope you have an opportunity to spend quality time with YOUR FAMILY.
