Dear Olathe North students and parents,
We are excited to announce the 1:1 deployment of Dell laptops to our students Oct. 1st-Oct 14th. We will be using student English Language Arts (ELA) classes for students to go to the gym to receive their device and complete the onboarding process. Specific details about the deployment will be released to students during their ELA classes. We will have digital citizenship lessons to follow, more information will be shared with the students as we determine how to best deploy the the digital citizenship. This is an activity that discusses the expectations and appropriate use of the device. We are excited that this opportunity has arrived for our students. Sincerely, Jason Herman, Principal

Senior Parent and Student Information9/24/2018 October 10th National Testing DayDear senior parents, On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the district is holding its annual High School Assessment Day. This day is set aside to allow freshmen through juniors from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to take the PSAT, PSAT practice test or ACT practice test. All students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. and the afternoon will be used for staff professional development. Seniors will not attend school this day and will be able to utilize this time to work on college applications or visits, financial aid, or other post-secondary options that morning. We will have counselors available to assist seniors should they choose to come to school for any assistance. Sincerely, Jason Herman, Principal Senior Calendar InformationDear Senior Parents/Guardians: Toward the bottom of this letter is a list of important dates for seniors and their parents and guardians. Please keep this list or put the dates in your own calendar for reference; this information is also available under the Senior Class of 2019 link on the left-hand side of the Olathe North High School website. www.schools.olatheschools.com/buildings/north. Several of these dates involve Jostens, the company providing our senior announcements and graduation caps and gowns. Students may also order a variety of senior merchandise through the company. On October 4, students will attend a presentation by our Jostens representative explaining what they offer; the only required items for graduation are a gown and cap with tassel. Ordering will take place at school on October 16-17, but you may also order online at thegraduationcenter.com. You may call Jostens at 816-628-6157 or email at korte.office@jostens.com if you have questions regarding items or ordering. In a few weeks, you will receive a letter from the yearbook staff regarding senior ads for the 2018-19 yearbook. Senior ads are a wonderful way to commemorate your student’s high school legacy in the yearbook. Ads range from 1/8th of a page to a full page, and they must be ordered and turned in by Winter Break. If you are interested, you may want to browse prior yearbooks for ideas. Please contact Bobby Cave, yearbook sponsor, at rcaveon@olatheschools.org if you have questions. Finally, we would like to highlight Project Graduation, an organization that sponsors a senior party the night of graduation. Project Graduation ensures a safe, drug-free/alcohol-free celebration for seniors, but it takes a lot of work and an entire year to plan. If you are willing to help or donate in any way, please contact onprojectgrad2019@gmail.com for more information. We’re looking forward to a fun, safe, and happy year for your seniors! Sincerely, Mrs. Andrea Cronin & Ms. Deirdre Zongker Senior Class Co-Sponsors ![]()
