Dear Students and Families,

Students across the state of Kansas had the opportunity to take the ACT WorkKeys on Feb. 21 (along with students who took the test on the April 3rd make-up date).  If you (or your child) took the WorkKeys and you are awaiting the results, below is a description of the two ways in which student results will be distributed and the approximate timeline.

  1. Creating an account with MyWorkkeys.com (per ACT WorkKeys - April 24th)
  • Students will NOT be sent reports from ACT; students are asked to create a MyWorkkeys.com account after scores are available.
  • WorkKeys scores and National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) will be available June 6th.
  • Once scores are available, students may create an account with MyWorkkeys.com.  Students will be asked to record their names, date-of-birth, address and an ID.  Unfortunately, WorkKeys has the ID number that students need.  To obtain the ID number, please call ACT WorkKeys at 1-800-967-5539 and select option #2.  (Students may call ACT WorkKeys any time to get their ID number)
These directions are per ACT WorkKeys.
  • If students are planning to use the NCRC for a job application or interview, please use this option.
  1. Student Reports from Olathe Public Schools (Assessment Office)
  • WorkKeys scores (not NCRC Certificates) will be available to the Olathe Public Schools Assessment Office on July 5th.
  • The Olathe Assessment Office will print and mail these reports home to students, using the address on file with the district by July 12.
  • The NCRC Certificates will need to be downloaded through MyWorkKeys.com (see directions above).

Please direct all questions to Rich Wilson or Nicole Atencio of the Olathe Public Schools Assessment Office at 913-780-8168.

Additional information may be found on the ACT WorkKeys website

Potential Inside Graduation

5/17/2019

With the possibility of moving graduation inside to Olathe Northwest due to potential weather concerns, I wanted to answer a few questions that I have received.  I also have a request for all family members.  After today’s additional ticket for the main gym that will be all the extra tickets available.  There will not be any other opportunities to receive more tickets.  The overflow room is in  the auditorium at ONW where the ceremony will be live-streamed.  The seating in the auditorium is on a first come first serve basis.  We do not have tickets for the overflow seating.  The live-stream will be available from any mobile device at.  https://www.olatheschools.org/graduation     If we do get to go outside please have your tickets with you if we have to move inside.  No tickets needed if we are outside.

As far as my request, can all friends and family, that will be attending the graduation, wear red and blue?  The staff and students would love to see the community spirit as we will be in the gym at ONW.  If 3,000 people showed up in red and blue it would look amazing and allow our graduates to feel more like home.

Remember doors open at 12:30 and graduation will start promptly at 2:00pm.

Additional Graduation Ticket

5/17/2019

After visiting ONW yesterday, I have decided to give every senior walking at graduation an additional ticket for their family. This is in the event that we have to go inside due to weather.  Seniors are welcome to swing by the ON front office today to pick it up.  We will also allow guardians and/or siblings that attend ON to pick up the ticket if you are listed in Synergy as a contact.  We will expect an ID to be shown for every ticket.  Our office will be open until 4:00pm today.  We will make a final decision on graduation location by 11:00am tomorrow morning.

2018-19 Olathe North Yearbook Is Here.

5/10/2019

Parents,

Yearbooks are here! For the first time in the history of Olathe North, we are handing out yearbooks before the school year ends.

Distribution will take place during Eagle Halftime on Monday; students that have purchased yearbooks must be in the South Gym hallway with their ID in hand to receive their book.

There will be a small amount of extra books for sale on Monday, as well; these are $50.00 with checks made out to Olathe North. Once these sell out, they are gone!

If your student is absent on Monday, or if they are unable to get their yearbook on Monday for any reason, they can see Mr. Cave in room 822.

All 2019 graduation ceremonies will take place at College Boulevard Activity Complex (CBAC), located at 11031 S. Valley Road. Olathe Northwest High School, directly across Lone Elm Road from CBAC, will serve as the indoor facility for all graduations in the event of inclement weather. The graduation schedule will be:

  • Olathe North High School: Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m.

  • Olathe East High School: Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m.
  • Olathe Northwest High School: Sunday, May 19, at 7 p.m.

If weather indicates a need to move indoors, that decision would be made three hours before each ceremony and ALL will take place at Olathe Northwest High School. Notices would be sent via the Blackboard communication system to parents and posted on the district website and social media sites. There will be NO message if outdoor graduation will go on as planned.
All seniors will be allocated FIVE of graduation tickets to be used ONLY if graduation is moved indoors to Olathe Northwest’s gymnasium. Overflow seating will be available in the auditorium at Olathe Northwest with a video stream. We encourage parents to bring their allotted tickets to either location of graduation.
For information about live streaming and to purchase DVDs, visit www.olatheschools.org/graduation.
