Olathe North Eagle Pride Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th-10th, 2019. This year is wrapping up quickly & we have Teacher Appreciation week coming up soon. Thursday, May 2 ~ Academic Signing Ceremony (Advisory/Seminar) Friday, May 3 ~ Senior Picnic Saturday, May 4 ~ PROM – Olathe Embassy Suites (Ridgeview K10) – 8pm Tuesday, May 14 ~ Senior Finals Hours 2-4-6 Wednesday, May 15 ~ Senior Finals Hours 1-3-5-7 Thursday, May 16 ~ Continental breakfast 8:30am (commons), graduation practice 9:00am (North gym), cap/gown distribution 10:00am (Aux gym) (caps/gowns will be distributed following practice, IF ALL FEES/FINES HAVE BEEN PAID. It is highly suggested that you visit the district website mypaymentsplus.com to ensure you do not have any outstanding fees due. If you need assistance, please contact Mrs. Guile, the ON bookkeeper. Picking up your cap/gown does NOT guarantee that you will participate in the graduation ceremony. Saturday, May 18 ~ Commencement ceremony at 2:00pm, at the College Park Activity Center (CBAC) More info to come on this at a later date. There will be no busses to CBAC – all seniors get there on their own. There is plenty of parking for everyone.

Parents, Now is the time to register for general education transportation for the 2019-2020 school year. Those who register by May 15th are eligible for the Early-Bird Discount of up to 25% off the yearly fee! Please visit www.olatheschools.org/transportation to register or for more information. 2019-20_Bilingual_Bus_Registration_Flier.pdf Olathe Public Schools currently provides free transportation to students who live 2.5 miles or more from school. Free bus transportation is also provided to students attending a 21st Century Academy or an English Language Learners program outside of their normal home school boundaries. Transportation may be provided on a pay basis for students who live less than 2.5 miles from school. Payride transportation is provided, IF there is an existing route in the area, on a first-come, first-serve, space-available basis. (Fees may be waived for students living in a pay area who qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program). Payride Information - For those schools where regular bus routes currently exist, bus transportation is available for: elementary students living 1 to 2.5 miles from school secondary students living 1.5 to 2.5 miles from school students who live within a transportation safety variance area AND who register and pay for service by July 15th. Registration is required for ALL general education students planning to ride the bus … AND MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 15th. An increased rate will apply to registrations received after July 15th. Transportation will not be guaranteed and will be processed on a first-come, first-serve, space-available basis beginning on September 3rd. Registrations for new students moving into the district over the summer will be processed on a first-come, first-serve, space-available basis. The standard rate will apply with move-in status verification. Se aplicará un monto más alto a aquellos que se inscriban después del 15 de julio. Si inscribe a su estudiante después del 15 de julio, el transporte no es garantizado y las solicitudes se procesarán de acuerdo al orden de inscripción y al espacio disponible, al tiempo que el servicio no se les brindará hasta el 3 de septiembre. Aquellas inscripciones de estudiantes que se muden dentro del distrito en el verano serán procesadas de acuerdo al orden de inscripción y se aplicará el monto estandar solo si verifican que se mudaron durante dichos meses. The Olathe Fire Department’s Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Team — made up of a firefighter paramedic and a nurse practitioner — helps match people with the right resources at the right time. The Team provides non-emergency services to Olathe residents for FREE. The MIH Team is offering FREE Sports Physicals for students looking to play sports in the 2019-2020 school year. If your student does not have insurance or is unable to afford a Sports Physical call the Olathe Fire Department MIH Team at 913-334-8228. The MIH Team is available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Calls are usually returned within 24-hours. Special Education Parent Survey
Recently, Kansas parents of students with disabilities who have IEPs received a notification letter asking them to complete an online Parent Survey. The survey responses are used to help guide efforts to improve services and results for children and families receiving special education services. If you are a parent who received the notification, and haven’t gone online to complete the survey, please do so prior to June 1st. Water line work for the new Courthouse that will affect the intersection of Spruce & Cherry.4/19/2019 All,
This will impact traffic to/from Olathe North HS. For the Johnson County court house, the new water line needs to be connected to the existing waterline at Spruce and Cherry. Starting Monday April 22 at 7:00 am, the entire intersection will be closed until 5:30 pm. The intersection will be open overnight. It is anticipated that work will be completed by Friday May 3.
