Eagle Parents,
With the school year rapidly winding down, that means it is time for Eagle Staff Appreciation Week. This is when we once again try to show our ongoing appreciation with little treats/activities each day. Here is the lineup which we anticipate will be a huge hit! Monday: "Eagle staff is the best on the Continent" - Continental Breakfast including Donuts/Muffins, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and beverages (coffee and tea) Tuesday: Ice Cream Sundaes - in partnership with Student Council who will be delivering the sundaes to staff Wednesday: "You oughta be in pictures" - Movie Day including popcorn, licorice, M&Ms, Junior Mints, Snickers, etc. Thursday: "You're the Gold Standard in education!" - Gold gift bags filled with "gold" wrapped treats and random/surprise "golden tickets" (i.e. gift cards) Friday: "BYOB" - Build Your Own Bag-lunch - Sandwich trays, individual chip bags, cookies/brownies and bottled water Some of our wonderful sponsors will again donate or discount a couple items. And thanks to your generous donations throughout the year, we have a few funds remaining from prior events which we will put towards more of the main items above but we STILL really need your help to make the rest of the week's events possible. Once again, thank you SO very much on behalf of the Olathe North Staff for all of your support this year. We feel so very privileged to be part of this kind, generous group of parents, and as always, we could NOT have done it without you!!

JUNE ACT PREP CLASS4/26/2018 June ACT Is your student taking the ACT in June? The June test is a great test to take for Sophomores and Juniors. After the test is administered in June it will be retired. Students who have taken this test are able to purchase for $20 their results and a copy of the test. The ACT only does this three times a year. This is a great study tool. Just look for Test Information Release on www.actstudent.org. You can request the buy- back of the test when your student registers and also up to three months after taking the test. Does your student need to get ready for the ACT? We are offering a prep class to get students ready for the June test here at North on May 30th. The class will be held from 9am-1pm. Power Prep Inc. will be sharing testing strategies with our students. Olathe North students will be able to take the class for $20. The normal fee is $40. This is a great deal. Please have your student stop by the office and pick up the registration form from Mrs. Sherraden. ![]()

Olathe North Mock Trial Team Wins State4/25/2018 ![]() Posted on April 26, 2018 by Marlene Colgan Congratulations to the Olathe North Mock Trial team on winning the state championship. April 26, 2018 ~ The Olathe North High School Mock Trial team was named the 2018 Kansas state champion and has earned the right to compete at the National Mock Trial Championship. The competition will be held mid-May in Reno, Nevada. Team members Reem Atallah, Alexa Edmonds, Lauren Ellenz, Anchal Gupta, Kirsten Osei-Bonsu, Alyson Shirley and Vanya Shivashankar defeated Shawnee Mission Northwest’s team by four points to secure the title. “The students spent weeks preparing for competition and their hard work has paid off,” Olathe North Debate and Forensics coach Richard Belske said. “They are the first Kansas City-area team to qualify for the national competition in nearly a decade and they are the only Olathe school in history to qualify.” Mock Trial is a speaking competition that is modeled after a courtroom trial. Each year the Kansas Bar Association releases a case that is based on a trial that occurred and students become familiar with the case materials and courtroom procedure.
