Dear Parents/Guardians: Each year we seek input from the parents/guardians of the students in our district. Your input helps us target areas of improvement. Survey results are analyzed districtwide, are provided to the Board of Education, and given to each school. If you have a specific concern, I encourage you to speak directly with someone, such as the person(s) with whom you have the concern, your student’s classroom teacher, or with me. The anonymous survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. You may access the survey by clicking on the link below. The survey is intended to allow for one response per household. If you receive the survey link from multiple schools, you only need to complete one survey. You may also complete the survey onsite at the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on February 7th and 8th . Computers will be available for accessing the survey at each building. Thank you for taking time to provide your feedback. We value your input. Olathe Relay for Life2/5/2018 ![]() Olathe North Family, The Olathe North Student Council is currently working hard on an event like NOTHING WE’VE DONE BEFORE! It’s exciting, but we really need your help! We are hosting the Olathe Youth Relay for Life on March 30-31, at ODAC. Yes, we have sponsored Relay before, but this year we are shooting for an even BIGGER event and working hard to include ALL FIVE HIGH SCHOOLS. (This is also why we have moved the location to ODAC.) Last year we raised about $12,000+ but this year we have set a HUGE GOAL of $20,000!! I know most of you have heard about Relay for Life, or may have overheard kids talking about it, but here are the main highlights: · Students form teams of 6-10 (or more depending) that work to raise money for cancer research. Our team kickoff is February 6th, but teams can register online until March 23rd. All Olathe students are invited to make a team! · At Relay For Life events teams camp out overnight and take turns walking around a track to raise funds for the fight against cancer. This is NOT a race, but IS a friendly competition. Teams that raise the most money by fundraising before & during the event earn prizes at the end of the evening and are recognized. (Last year some fundraising booths included: selling tamales, henna, and lemonade) · This is an overnight event! J Our students will walk from 7pm-7am and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times. Yes, it’s a struggle for us all to stay up, but that’s what makes this experience so real for the kids. · FOOD, FUN, FREEBIES, FRIENDS- that’s what makes our event special! ON StuCo is working hard to put together a night full of activities, prizes, and LOTS of food. (Mid-night pizza, 3am ice cream party, ….Connie Martin making s’more….just to name a few!)

Project Graduation Go Fund Me2/4/2018 Dear Olathe North Senior Parents,
National statistics show that more young people between the ages of 16 and 20 are injured or killed between the hours of 10p.m. and 4a.m. during graduation season(May/June)/night of graduation than during any other time of the year. PROJECT GRADUATION is one way to fight these alarming facts and teach our kids to celebrate smart! Project Graduation provides our graduating seniors with a safe and fun environment that is drug and alcohol-free to celebrate their accomplishments. With these things in mind we are looking to our school community to once again come together and support this great tradition. ON Project Graduation is a mostly senior parent volunteer group that will organize an all-night drug and alcohol-free event on Sunday May 20th, 2018. Your support will help ensure our graduating seniors have a place to safely celebrate all their hard work over their last 12 years of school. Please support the class of 2018 and Project Graduation by donating to the Go Fund Me for the Olathe North Project Grad. If all senior parents donated we could easily reach our goal. Thank you for the support. Go Fund Me – https://www.gofundme.com/ONProjectGrad2018 Please share this information on Facebook and with family and friends. Our fundraising goal is $8,000. With this amount, we anticipate being able to “offset” the cost of attendance in the form of gift cards and other prizes to be distributed at the event. If you are interested in being on the steering committee for 2018 ON Project Graduation please contact Scott Mayes at 913 219 4038 or mayesscott@aol.com. On behalf of the graduating class of 2018 THANK YOU, in advance, for your consideration and support of this truly special program for our graduating seniors. We look forward to a fun year and great end of the year party. |
